Hello Lowcountry Paddlers Membership!
May 18 is a big day for our club -- we have 2 major events happening!!
- Sparkleberry Swamp paddle and camping at Santee State Park
- National Safe Boating Week Kayaking 101 class - Don D, Walter R, and Beth H. and I are volunteering instruction at Chester and Aiken State Parks. This event sponsored by the ACA, US Coast Guard Aux, SC State Parks, and SC DNR. The ACA won community outreach award in 2023. This year, we are joining with 6 other states to offer this special intro class for $15 per person. The goal is to bring safety awareness to new paddlers.
THAT SAID...There is yet another event happening on May 18 - Bulls Bay Nature Festival. Previously Dan and Julie hosted an exhibition table on behalf of Lowcountry Paddlers, with the idea of sharing about our club. Dan and Julie and many other club members are already busy with the 2 events we already have planned, but I thought I would ask if there is anyone else interested in hosting the exhibit table at this Festival. I have a tent and banner and table that you can take to the event. Attached is more detailed information.
