Hello Everyone,
I love it that so many paddlers have signed on to the Bulls Island paddle Saturday. I am sad to say that I have had to pass the lead of this trip over to Beth Haywood with a new member Mike Bonazzi as co-lead I. Due to the cost of a plane ticket, Julie and I will 2 hours into a flight to New Mexico when you launch.
For those not familiar with this paddle I can easily say don't be afraid of it unless the wind is blowing a gale up or down the ICW Otherwise, the only difficulty may be it's length. I'm looking at 4.5 miles down the ICW and then 3 miles out the inlet between Capers and Bulls Islands. All protected water. You'll pull into the beach before you hit any wave action. Then, go for a beach walk on the quiet barrier island. I am sorry to miss this as I love it anytime I can get of any barrier island the has no road connected to it. Enjoy yourselves out there.
-One more important point. Bring some cash to put in an envelope at the landing. At least $5.00 in ones as I'm not sure the exact number. Figure you get a bathroom for that.
