General Announcements and Messages (Public)

LCP members need to have signed a current CALENDAR...

With club trips for 2026 beginning this coming weekend.....it is time now to remind ALL LCP members that you need to have signed an ACA Smart waiver at the time of the Christmas party of later. Signing the ACA waiver back when you renewed with the ACA...say in August..so it may still be valid with the ACA...well...we need you to agree to the waiver and the ACA Code of Conduct as of the Christmas party of later to be on the LCP smart waiver list.

Trips leaders are required to ensure that LCP members have signed a smart waiver and the only way for the leader to see it is to look at the LCP Smart Waier list...maintained by the ACA.

Confusing?? No..if you did not sign a smart waiver at the Christmas party or later, PLEASE DO IT NOW and save everyone a hassle at the boat landing.

If you are not sure if you signed to get on the current calendar list...just go through the process below and agree again. it does not hurt to "agree' again.

IT IS EASY!!!!

You need to ”Agree" to the ACA Smart waiver and the “Member Code of Conduct"’.

You need to do this before the club trip on Jan 17 or any other LCP trip you may go on. Please do it now and do not wait until you go on your first trip of 2026.

It should be as easy as this:

  1. Log into the ACA (American Canoe Association) home page
  2. Click on your profile..

  1. Click on "View Profile"

You will see a "drop down box" on the left

(Not the far left..but the one immediatley to the left..and find the word "Waivers".)

Click on "Waivers" and you will see the waivers and the Code of Conduct show up.

Go to the far right and click on ACTION. Then click on update and hit the button that says "Agree'.

Do it for the Code of Conduct too.

The hardest part of this is remembering your sign in info for the the ACA..but you sign in annually to renew your ACA membership...so you should be able to do it.

Trip leaders are required to verify that waivers have been signed before club members come on official trips. I can attest that it is VERY hard to do smart waivers in the sun at a boat landing with only 1 bar on your phone.

NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO TELL ME YOUR HAVE DONE THIS. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL. If you want to contact me, please email me at: kayakcharleston@comcast.net

Thanks,
