  1. We need trip leaders for the trips noted below. This is a chance to participate more in the club. You need not be familiar with the areas...I can provide guidance...we have excellent written guidelines for trip leaders. The trips are not "easy" L1 trips, they do involve a few skills, but we have experienced paddlers who are part of the club who are certainly capable of leading these. If you are willing to do this, we can also set you to work with a trip leader on one of the trips beforehand so you can get a feel for the organization and other issues involved.

  • August 29 (Saturday): Edisto River: Willtown Bluff to West Bank Landing loop trip.  About 12 miles.
  • Nov 7 (Saturday): Sol Legare landing to Backside of Charleston County Park on Folly Beach.  Put Sol Legare Boat landing in your mapping app. About 10 miles
  • Nov 14 (Saturday): Pitt Street Bridge in Mt Pleasant to Shem Creek Boat Landing Loop trip. Put Pitt Street bridge, Mt Pleasant in your mapping app. About 6 miles.

When you agree to lead, please double check the tides and make sure you are comfortable with the write up. As trip leader, you may change it as you see fit.

If you agree to lead and something comes up in your life, all you need to do is let me know you cannot make the trip and I’ll find another trip leader. So please do not hesitate to volunteer, even if you do not know your schedule.

Please contact me directly if you will lead one of these.  Email: kayakcharleston@comcast.net
