Fellow Lowcountry Paddlers,
Please consider volunteering to serve as a Kayak Escort to one of the swimmers in the 2nd annual Charleston Frogman Swim which benefits the Navy Seal Foundation. They need a few more kayaks.
The event is this Sunday October 4. All swimmers and their kayak support boats are needed at the start at the Charleston Maritime Center (downtown Charleston) by 7:15 AM Sunday. The 4.1 mile swim goes around the battery and finishes at Brittlebank Park (not far from Joe Riley baseball park).
If interested please go to the website to volunteer: charlestonfrogman.com. You may also get more information by contacting one of the event directors, Walt Leonard, directly at: waltpops5@gmail.com (he is friend here on Seabrook).
It's a very worthy cause, here is how they summarize the mission:
Every entry, every stroke, every dollar raised flows directly to the Navy SEAL Foundation, the official non-profit serving the Naval Special Warfare community with critical support: tragedy assistance, scholarships, family programs, and lifetime care.
We are swimmers, paddlers, volunteers, and sponsors — civilians and veterans alike — bound together by gratitude. We swim because they served. We swim because their families still carry the weight.
take care, Rich Boss
