Have you ever wanted to do more to support paddling in South Carolina? Here’s an opportunity to make a difference!
The American Canoe Association (ACA) is seeking self-nominations for South Carolina State Director for the term January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2028. Self-nominations are due October 31, 2026.
State Directors help amplify the voice of paddlers, advocate for paddling access and other needs, and expand opportunities for education, stewardship, public policy, competition, and community engagement.
You don’t have to do it alone! State Directors can build a State Council team of volunteers to share ideas, coordinate efforts, and work together on priorities that benefit paddlers throughout the state.
If you care about the future of paddling in South Carolina and would like to get more involved, I encourage you to consider putting your name forward. You don't need to have all the answers—just an interest in bringing people together and helping our paddling community thrive.
