March 21 (Saturday): Horseshoe Creek in the ACE Basin: Price Bridge Landing downstream to explore several rice field canals before the aquatic weeds start growing. About 7 miles.
Non club members and member guests must contact the trip leader before the trip.
Boat type, size , and paddling skills should be discussed with the trip leader.
Rating: L1, sheltered
Where: Be ready to launch from Price Bridge landing at 9:30. (Put Prices Bridge (Horseshoe Creek) in your mapping app...but do NOT take any dirt roads that your gps may put you on..if coming from Jacksonboro, keep driving past the dirt road and turn in the village of Neyles).
Logistics: We’ll paddle downstream and check out a canal on the right side of the creek, then continue on and go out the long canal on the left, across from Chessey Creek. We’ll not plan to get out of our boats on this trip.
Plan to be off the water by 12:30.
Trip Leader: Ralph Earhart
Note: We’ll be paddling against a small incoming tide on our way downstream, but we want a high tide in order to go the furthest in the canals. The tide should help us on the return trip. The tidal current should not be a concern on this paddle.
